3.2 Payment Processing and Security Deposits

Stripe Integration:

 

  • All payment card information is collected, processed, and stored by Stripe, our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor

  • We never store complete credit card numbers on our servers

  • Stripe handles security deposit authorizations and releases according to our Terms and Conditions

  • When an Owner requires a security deposit:

    • Stripe authorizes (holds) the deposit amount on the Renter's payment method

    • The Owner is charged the Stripe processing fee for the security deposit hold

    • Upon successful return of the item undamaged, Stripe automatically releases the security deposit back to the Renter

    • Processing fee information is stored for accounting and transparency purposes
